This card was available in the Michael Doohan Pack.
The pack did not sell as
well as expected by the producer. This was partly due to the fact that it
was a $20 card being issued at $59.50,
and also that there were a number
of other custom cards flooding the market at the time. So 4,600 folders were returned to Telstra, leaving a maximum of 400 folders.
With Doohan
going on to win a further two World Championships, after the release of this
card, the packs popularity increased, but with only 400 possibly available, remains very rare.
