Sheet shown below has been removed to show the reverses of the cards. |
The pack contains the above sheet and this was placed in the pack to hide the reverses of the cards. |
The Apollo 11 Pack was issued in July 1994. Quantity produced was 2,000. For details on these five cards, refer APOLLO 11. Some customers were unhappy with the original packaging, so Roam Pacific said customers could replace the original packaging with a high quality pack by contacting their dealer. These Replacement Packs had a different cover and the back had no windows to view the reverses of the cards. |

The Apollo 11 (Replacement) Packs started being released in September 1994, but these packs were not serially numbered. The actual quantity of Apollo 11 (Replacement) Packs produced is unknown, however on the back of the packs is stated “This is a limited edition: 2000 sets”. It appears that very few of the Apollo 11 (Original) Packs actually had their packaging replaced with that of the Apollo 11 (Replacement) Pack. Therefore, it is believed that the Apollo 11 Specimen Cards were produced to fill unused Apollo 11 (Replacement) Packs so that they could be sold as Apollo 11 (Specimen) Packs. |
