A third trial took place on 9 September, when two machines
were installed at Sydney GPO to dispense trial booklets. On the first week
of November 1982, two machines were installed at Melbourne GPO. These third trial booklets had a plain cream cover front and back, and contained 2 x 27c Blue Mountains Tree Frog, 2 x 2c Crimson Finch and 2 x 1c Zebra Finch. The initial booklets had the 27c stamp with a Perf of 12.6 x 12.8 and later editions had them with Perf 14.0 x 14.4 Once again normal sheet stamps were used and they were torn into strips of 2 by hand and adhered to the inside cover by the selvedge. Because any selvedge was used, there are an enormous number of combinations of layouts available. There are believed to have been 20,000 of these folders produced. |
