These booklets were interleaved with waxed paper. The panes were stapled between the two card covers. W3a was sold with a surcharge of ½d to cover the cost of manufacture, by means of a ornamental star dummy stamp. |

The side selvedges now had bars, but were plain on the top or bottom bindings. Later printings added the bars to the binding selvedges as well. | ||||
