Embassy Six

Embassy Six were a pop group from Dunedin. The band was formed in October 1958 as a result of competing in the Joe Brown "Search For Stars" talent quest. Warren Byrnes (aged 11), brother of Neville, would occasionally sing with the band.

They released one single on Parlophone in 1960. This was followed by an EP. Alan Morrison would later in 1964, have a short solo career. Warren Byrnes can also be heard with a live version of "Stupid Cupid" on the compilation CD "Forty Years Of Dunedin Popular Music".

There is a strong possibility that the below single is also by the Embassy Six, under different names.


The "Hoots Mon" track is identical to the same track on the EP.
